Real Madrid - La Liga Champions!

Real Madrid captured a record 30th Spanish League title with a come-from-behind 3-1 win over Real Mallorca. The victory also sent David Beckham away to Los Angeles with a league championship medal. Barcelona, though they gave a valiant effort, didn't make it.

Madrid ended its longest major trophy drought in 53 years with wild celebrations and a lap of honor before throwing coach Fabio Capello into the air as the Italian won his second title as coach at Madrid.

"This team has recovered its spirit, this was a fantastic victory," said Real coach Fabio Capello.
