The Secret is Out: Harry Potter Ending Revealed
Relax, I am not going to blab. But it's out. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows has leaked into the net - in the funniest format. It's not a PDF file this time, but a bunch of pictures taken by someone, revealing most of the pages in the 7th Harry Potter book.
So, the end is now known to the public. The spoilers are everywhere. Everyone knows who died and who survived, what happened to all of the characters (annoying and tacky epilogue at the end) and who won the war. I'll give you a full count of it all soon enough - after July 21st, of course. Still - I say: Don't buy the book. It is not worth the trouble. That's my guess, if you know what I mean.
The spoilers are out there - all over the net. If you are interested in finding the files and the info, all you have to do is digg a bit, or search in p2p networks, if you know what I mean.
I don't really think this will hurt the amazing sales. Rowling won't lose money because some kid photographed the pages of the book and put it on the net. Still, it's amusing to see, that despite the protection and threats - information (albeit not very important one) has once again broke the chains of gold, and has become free and accessible to all.

if it wasn't for this internet thingy that keeps spreading the potter hypes, i think i still could hold myself from jumping into the bandwagon and pre-order the book. =) but now that the damage is done, i chastise myself for peeking at spoilers (can't help 'em, but really don't want to spoil reading the book for the first time).
I was meaning to ask, since you guys have downloaded the leak, if the spoilers link at torrentfreak (http://www.zendurl.com/h/hallows/) contain fake or real spoilers, cause I read three lines on top and haven't stop torturing my mind for the stupidity of clicking it in the first place.
Emi, that link you put is full of bullshit, although some of the things there are true. So it's not the real deal, exactly. I bet in a few days we will see a PDF file of the book, instead of the JPGs - so maybe you can read it then :)
Hey, prick - 'information trumps gold'? People make money off of their ideas. To have J.K. Rowling's hard work put out there for free is a ridiculous offense. Personally, I hope they find the criminal who did this and lock them up for five years. That'll teach you to steal.

It's fake. Have any of you heard the story behind this little gem? Apparently, after a long night of smoking weed and snorting lines of crack, the publishers decided it would be a good idea to not have ANY SECURITY around the books they placed in libraries. That's right. Even though you can't remove a black tarp from the boxes in stores without being arrested, you can just walk right up to the boxes in libraries, crack them open, and walk out with a copy without ever being seen. If you think that the photocopied pages are real, then you also have to believe all of that.
Welcome to the digital age. The age of ownership of knowledge is over. Just like the printing press put Monks out of work from transcribing the bible the Internet means the end of secrets. The record industry doesn't understand either.

my friend downloaded the leak...it's not real...certain pages are missing and it's not Jo's writing style...it's not incredibly well written...also Jo said that two major characters will die...along with several other characters...well in the epilogue that certainly didn't happen. and the book is supposed to be 734 pgs...the photos show 736...it's not real! sorry!
The fact that Scholastic are going out of their way (and mind) to remove all copies speaks for itself. I read it all, some major characters DO die, and it can't get more real than that - the font, the first authenticated paragraph, the illustrations... Everything fits, including the tacky epilogue.
One of you said you can't open the boxes.. then why have i seen ''Order of the Phoenix'' (english version) in print before we where allowed to sell them? I worked in a supermarket in the Netherlands at that time, and had to put them in the special shelve on friday night because my boss wanted everything ready when we opened.. he didn't care..
And the dutch version of the HBP I've also seen before we where to raise the iron bars and let everyone buy it (worked on the dutch Harry Potter night, the boxes where opened the day before, because we had to get ready for the sale at midnight..
But you wont find m in time in the library overhere, they always get the books from the distributing centres on the day it comes out..

the first chapter is called "The Dark Ascending", and the last one (before the epilogue) is called "The Flaw of the Plan". Oh, and the last word isn't "scar", but "well".

It doesnt matter whether the book is out online to me. The most important thing is that I get to feel the book and read the actual, physical item.
FAKE.
JKR & bloomsburys CONFIRMED that the leak with chapter one named "the dark ascending" is fake. The first chapter title is NOT "the dark ascending". JKR says personally on her site that all leaks are misinformed and in other words NOT TRUE. I am personally extremely relieved that it has not been spoiled for me.

Is this leak real?
1st- the last word should be scar but it is not here
2nd- the real book should have more pages than 397
3rd- the are quite a few formatting errors and spelling, grammar errors in the pdf
eventhough it is very well written i think that this version is not real but the easiest way to find out is to sleep early and wake up early for the book to come out 2morrow or read the book while u are a work if you work at a supermarket
Well, actually, Rowling said the last word isn't scar anymore.
And if this is the real deal, then it should be published by Bloomsbury, since Scholastic is for the US version. So since the fake is SCHOLASTIC, and it's NOT the amount of pages for the AMERICAN version (people are saying that's because the fake is the British version) then they got the wrong publisher for the fake.
We'll find out for sure in less than a day, anyway.
i couldnt care it its real or not i stopped reading half way throught he first book but thats not the point. The question i would liek to put out there is if its not real whos the guy who went out of his way to write an entire book and get it bound and printed out in the exact style of the other books. so if it is fake somebody has to have seen this guy doing this stuff. so my oppinion its real
they've actually been selling the book already in several stores, either accidentally or intentionally. Rowlings is apparently sueing some resellers in the US. In Finland some countryside market was also selling the book for a few hours - the books had been put out by a summer worker who didn't know better. Somebody asked for the book, the assistant found the boxes in the back room and put the books on display.

You know...I understand fandom, and I am certainly a part of it myself, but it does upset me when people who claim to be fans go out of their ways to get an illegal and free copy of the work. If you are that big of a fan of Harry Potter, then do the sensible thing and wait for it to be released to the public legally, buy it, enjoy it, and thank J.K. for all of her hard work. She writes the books for her readers, the least you can do is pay for what you are receiving. Authoring a book is hard and costly work, she deserves every penny that is owed to her.

This is not a spoiler, I just finished the book last night, and while the story is exciting, it ends exactly like anyone could have guessed. There was really no need for spoilers because it was the ending everyone guessed at the end of the last book.
